PILATES TEACHER TRAINING COMMUNITY ENRICHMENT SCHOLARSHIP ANNOUNCEMENT
Studio7 Pilates + Barre of Prairie Village, KS, and Pilates Sports Center of Encino, California are pleased to announce our Community Enrichment scholarship opportunity for our Fall 2023 Pilates Teacher Training Session in Prairie Village, KS. PSC Pilates Teacher Training at Studio7 has trained many teachers and leaders in the profession that can be found in some of the busiest Pilates studios in KC. However, Studio7 recognizes the lack of representation for all bodies and skin colors in the Pilates industry, and specifically in our KC metro area. We would like to foster the change by offering a Community Enrichment Scholarship* to underrepresented community members, including BIPOC and LBGTQIA+ persons. Our goal with providing scholarship opportunities is to encourage, welcome, and incentivize all interested persons to create more diverse Pilates Instructor opportunities within our KC Pilates community.
The next session of PSC Teacher Training begins October 2023. Full priced tuition for PSC Pilates Teacher Training is $4900; we are offering limited Community Enrichment Scholarship awardee slots in this class at the greatly reduced rate of $2600**, covering expenses and administrative costs.
Eligibility
• For this scholarship, all applicants need to be from an underrepresented community within the Pilates industry. (for example, BIPOC or LGBTQ+)
• The applicant should have familiarity with Pilates and a desire to become a teacher
• The purpose of this scholarship is to encourage diversity and inclusion in our profession - financial need or inability to pay is not a requirement, though this factor may be considered in the selection of the recipient
Selection Criteria
• Applicants need to be from a diverse background
• Applicants must have their application turned in to Studio7 by September 1st, 2023
• Applicants must have an entrance interview that will take place between September 6th and 13th
• Applicants will be selected partially based on their application essay, “How I plan to enrich my community as a Pilates Instructor”
• Selection of scholarships will be awarded by the scholarship committee at their sole discretion and will be final
• An unlimited amount of scholarships will be awarded to all eligible candidates
