In this 3 hour workshop, we will cover essential information that every woman needs for pelvic floor health. Topics will include:

  • Proper body mechanics during pregnancy and postpartum [exercises to counteract postural imbalances due to pregnancy]

  • Safe lifting techniques

  • Diastasis Recti - What is Diastisis Recti? How to prevent, test, and heal DR AND what to avoid if you have it.

  • Exercises to focus on for prenatal and postpartum health [example: why pushups, planks, tricep dips, and high impact exercises aren't advised for postpartum women and why bridges, upper back exercises, and chest stretches are advised]

  • Bladder incontinence and ways to improve your bladder control

  • Pelvic floor anatomy, dysfunction, and home exercises

  • Still in pain or struggling with a pelvic floor issue? How to know when it's time to seek professional help [PLUS an area guide to pelvic floor specialists in the KC area]

This workshop is for every woman - even if you've never experienced childbirth, or your child is in their 20's, you will learn valuable tools to educate yourself and others. Dress in comfortable clothing as we will be applying the exercise principles taught.

Taught by Studio Owner, Master Trainer, and Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant Jocelyn Cohenour, this workshop will be the first of many we offer to deliver essential information necessary for safe pelvic floor health. This workshop is to be used as an information guide and not to be used in place of seeking treatment from a medical professional.

Jocelyn recently attended a 16-hour course on Postpartum Health through Herman and Wallace Pelvic Rehabilitation Institute and is passionate about equipping all women with the knowledge necessary to take control of their health.
